OS Shooting vs the School
The annual shooting match between the Old Boys and the School took place this afternoon on the school range, resulting in a win for the school, 483 : 475. The OS put the school to shame by turning up with 9 shooters to the school's four. But OS captain, Tom Mills, generously allowed each of the school members to fire twice, whereas the OS each fired once, with the best six scores from each team contributing to the total. Tom again showed the lead by top scoring with 88, but only two other OS reached 80 or more, whereas the school's contributions apart from one were in the range 79-82. Top scorer for the school was Adam Slack with 85, which means that he is this year's holder of the OS Shooting Shield.
My thanks to Tom Mills for organising the OS team. It was a great pleasure to meet up with them all again and I sincerely hope that several of them will make themselves available for next year's match, which is likely to be in the first week of January 2013 (details to be confirmed).
