Awarding of Colours

The Awarding of Full and Half Colours

Skinners’ School awards students with full and half colours for their outstanding contribution to sport or the performing arts throughout the whole of their time at the school and at all levels of performance.

In order for students to be considered for full or half colours they should meet most of the following criteria.

Full Colours

Students have made a sustained and significant impact

Students have attended almost all practices and rehearsals and shown a high level of commitment (this might include leadership)

Students have performed at the highest level of ability

Students have made excellent levels of progress and effort

Students have shown themselves to be outstanding role models for younger year groups,  consistently assisting with the development of their activity

Student behaviour has been exemplary throughout

Half Colours

Students have made a significant impact

Students have attended training/rehearsals on a regular basis and shown commitment

Students have performed at a high level of ability

Students have made very good levels of progress and effort

Students have shown themselves to be excellent role models for the lower year groups, assisting with the development of their activity whenever possible

Student behaviour has been exemplary throughout

 

Full Colours are normally only awarded in Year 13

Half Colours can be awarded (or re-awarded) in Year 13 and Year 12

Half Colours can be awarded in Year 11, but these should be for outstanding contributors only
