Annual General Meeting
Saturday 19th July 10.30am at the School

Coffee will be served in the Dining Hall from 10.30am and at 11.00am there will be our traditional short memorial ceremony in the Main Hall to remember Old Boys who gave their lives in the two World Wars and other more recent conflicts.

The AGM will commence at 11.15 am and this year a number of older and long serving members on the committee are retiring from active service. This will create the opportunity for new and hopefully younger members to put their names forward to be elected onto the committee to join the other three or four younger members who were elected last year. We expect to confirm Tony Holding as our incoming President, with Richard Sharples becoming our Senior Vice President, and Peter Braggins joining the committee as Junior Vice President.

A highlight of the meeting will be the Headmaster Simon Everson reporting on the successes at the School over the past year and outlining his plans for the forthcoming year. This really is a superb opportunity to appreciate how good the School is; to view all the improvements which have been made to the facilities on site; and to ask questions about the future plans.

At the conclusion of the meeting a superb buffet lunch will be provided in the Dining Hall from 12.30 pm for those who have pre-booked.

I can assure you that our AGMs far from being boring are in fact interesting and sociable occasions. And there is no risk whatsoever of being coerced onto the committee without your express agreement.

So remember the date, Saturday 19th July and I look forward to meeting many of you at the AGM.

Annual Society Dinner
Saturday 20th September 7.30pm at the School

This year's Dinner will be the 100th of these gatherings, and arrangements are well in hand to make this Centenary Dinner a very special occasion. We may not have the rugby World Cup to entertain and enthrall us this year, but be assured of a memorable evening nevertheless. Our principal guest will be Master of The Skinners' Company, Major General John Moore-Bick CBE DL (Old Skinner), accompanied by the Clerk, Major General Brian Plummer CBE.

Members are asked to note the date in their diary now and start gathering friends and other Old Skinners to make up a table for the evening. With a limit on numbers, places are sure to be much sought after and early booking is strongly advised. John Andrews is already taking advance bookings at £10.00 per person from those who want to be sure of a place at what will surely be the highlight of the Society's year.

Old Skinners’ Golfing Society

The Society is trying to build up a list of members who are interested in a twice-yearly golf meeting and would like such members to contact Mike Gadsden so that notices can be sent out well in advance of meetings and to get feedback on new ideas and venues for matches.
